The site of a tragic airplane crash, and the home of one of the iconic 50 classic climbs of North America, Slesse Mountain is a peak of rich history and superlative scale. Just north of the U.S. - Canada border, Slesse is among the great peaks of the northernmost part of the Cascade Mountain range, a range too large and wild to be contained in a single country. The long, highlighted ridge rising from the lower-right part of the image is the classic NE Ridge which provides the motivated alpine climber with over 2,500 feet of sustained technical climbing and is truly one of the great trophies of the Pacific Northwest.
