This was one of those “just passing through from here to there” images. I was traveling from Ouray to Telluride Colorado via Last Dollar Road when I happened upon this scene. I was quite stunned by the beauty. This region is known as the “Switzerland of America” and this image is a good indicator of why that is.
I spent so much time here photographing I couldn’t make it to my original destination and ended up dispersed camping along Last Dollar Road near where this image was captured. Wasn’t disappointed. Capped off by a great sunset.
As a bit of trivia, I learned later that Wilson Peak is the mountain depicted on Coors beer cans.
Title Origin: This scene lent itself to a myriad of title options, but in the end, I kept it simple and to the point, or peak as it were; Wilson Peak IS the central focus of the scene.
Thanks ... and thanks again,
David David
