Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the go to locations to view the golden aspens and fall colors on the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies.
I took the day off from work knowing that a snow storm was predicted for the weekend. I wanted to make one more trip to the park to capture some fall colors before the storm blew the leaves off the Aspens.
This valley leading to Bear Lake is one of the better areas for colorful aspens in the fall. The peaks had a dusting of snow from a small storm that had moved through the area earlier in the week.
I hiked up the trail toward Beirstadt Lake. This is the view I found about half way up the first ridge.
