The picture gave me winter mood at the lake which is hidden under a blanket of snow. A retreating storm shows a last glow of the evening sun. The winter sun rarely shines, but it warms us especially. The snow spends silence by swallows the sounds.

The real reason for most visitors, however, are the royal castles on the left (closeup) Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau near the historic city of Füssen.

Neuschwanstein is often referred to as a fairytale castle. It is the most famous of the castles of King Ludwig II and one of the most famous sights in Germany. It is considered a symbol of the time of Romanticism and is known worldwide. In American advertising, it is the most used castle motif.

The castle was the model for several buildings around the world, especially for the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. The Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris was also modelled on the Bavarian "fairytale castle". The same applies to the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
