96 MEGAPIXEL VAST PHOTO
Hrafntinnusker, Iceland
Alexandre is a professional self-taught photographer and musician, immersed in an authentic and personal search for poetic atmospheres of wild nature. The most important thing to him is the emotional connection that transports us to the heart of his subjects through the atmosphere that emerges from them. Always in search of inspiration, he invites us to share his ethereal journey.
"An ethereal atmosphere is one that allows reverie and evocation. One that, since its interpretation, transports us beyond the subject itself. The kingdom of our imaginary worlds."
Alexandre began his photographic quest in the 2000s as a kind of very powerful inner call. Also a musician and composer, these creative impulses have been significant drivers of his creativity as well as provided him comfort and resilience on his path to overcome a recurring pain in finding a place in this world as it is. Transforming this path into some form of beauty has become an essential part of who he is and is reflected in his beautiful photographic work.
"Among all things, it is the Atmosphere that guides me… Always. Because that's where Emotion is born. The Emotion that connects us, the One that makes the subject alive and vibrant, through our gaze."
Alexandre's VAST photos speak of his story. They attempt to express the unspeakable, representing Alexandre's path from darkness to light. His work inspires people around the world, both in print form as well as in the workshops he leads, in the conferences he presents at, in the film about his journey "The Quest for Inspiration" (2012), and in his book "Voyage Éthéré" (2016).
