116 megapixels! A very high resolution, art decor photo print of a San Francisco landscape; photograph created by Jeff Lewis near San Francisco in Marin County, California

Fog adds magic to so many different kinds of scenes. It's one of the things I was most excited about when I moved to Marin County -- fog heaven.

Since moving to the north bay, I have discovered countless vistas and compositions that have rarely or never before been photographed. Some are in areas that thousands of people pass every day, and others are on remote wilderness trails. Beauty truly is all around us. I took this one in a preserve that's fairly popular among locals, but the view doesn't usually look quite like this!

This view wasn't my original plan this morning. It wasn't even my backup plan. The fog rose and chased me out of both of those plans. I was driving around frantically and remembered this trail, noticing it appeared to be just a hair above the fog. Hopefully it stayed that way! I was running out of time before the magic hour light would arrive. I ran up the trail, and this view was waiting for me. It was perfect. Planning is the first step, but this one is an ode to spontaneity.

This image is part of my Awaken series, which showcases the beauty of little-known areas, with the goal of inspiring locals to explore and love our backyard. As of the time of publishing, there is no other image like this in existence. There will undoubtedly be attempts to duplicate it, but few will succeed with the conditions and method required for a large print. As with most images in the Awaken series, serious buyers may choose to have the location revealed to them. I hope you enjoy it!

Print only

Our photographic prints are created using a specialty, large-format fine art printer designed to produce archival, museum-grade prints. They are true "chromogenic" prints: light-sensitive paper exposed in a darkroom using state-of-the-art lasers to produce the sharpest possible image. Click on the icons below to learn more or click here to explore further.

Our photographic prints are available in one of two finishes: glossy and lustre. Glossy prints have a rich, silky saturation and are great for environments where the lighting and reflections have been carefully thought through. Lustre prints have a bright, sparkle-like finish that diffuses reflections and are therefore more versatile for environments where the lighting and reflections are less under your control.

Your print comes with two certificates of authenticity hand-signed by the artist and the printmaker: one that you will affix to the finished piece and one that remains standalone. Additionally, your print's provenance is tracked and verified using state-of-the-art digital technology. Learn more.

Acrylic glass display

Our acrylic glass displays are ready-to-hang works of art that contain one of our photographic prints sealed between flame-polished acrylic glass and an aluminum backing. A hidden mounting brace on the rear causes the display to gracefully "float" off the wall for a sleek, modern frameless look that complements nearly any decor style.
