1,247 MEGAPIXEL VAST PHOTO
Mont-Cenis Lake, Val-Cenis, France
This is my second drone image for VAST.
We're still in the area of Moncenisio lake, a beautiful and enormous semi-artificial lake located just beyond the border between northwest Italy and France.
It's one of the very few high mountain areas (at two thousand meters above sea level) where you can fly freely with a drone. Although I'm a professional drone pilot with all the necessary licenses (up to level three), it's becoming increasingly difficult to find free-flying areas without incurring various restrictions.
In this image, created thanks to my drone's exclusive function that allows for the creation of free-flying, ultra-high-resolution panoramas using the drone's second built-in lens at a focal length of 70 mm, you can see one of the most scenic areas of the entire lake: the bay where the Vallone di Savalain stream flows into the sea. This beautiful and scenic valley will soon be the subject of a new photo for VAST.
Notice the turquoise color of the lake water, due to the presence of particular muddy sediments at the bottom of the lake, which cause the water to change color depending on the time of day and the season.
Although it may not be clear from the photo, the size of the lake and the height of its shores are enormous: the lake extends for several kilometers, with a surface area of over one and a half square kilometers, three and a half kilometers long, and between five hundred meters and one and a half kilometers wide, and the shores are very deep, making it quite difficult to walk down them.
I hope you like this my brand new photo
