In this last VASTphoto of mine you can admire the beautiful mountain group that includes Mont Blanc (4807 meters high), the Aiguille Noire de Peuterey (3773 meters high) and the Brenva glacier. These amazing mountains can be admired in all their splendor directly from the city of Courmayeur, in Valle d'Aosta.
This shot is part of the series of ones I am dedicating to the "Alps Giants", a collection of the highest and most famous tops of the West Alps between Italy and France.
I took this photo from one of the car parks that lead to the entrance to the many cable cars present, thus having all the calm necessary to take this very high resolution shot with my Canon 5D Mark IV and the 400m f/5.6 L lens.
It is possible to see many details of the rocks, the crevasses of the glacier, the valleys, the plants ... it is even possible to see some ibexes at very high altitude while relaxing on the rocks and some birds flying.
The shot was taken with the soft light of the afternoon, with the Sun on the very left just behind the valley, thus the sunlight was able to illuminate the Mont Blanc massif laterally, creating a natural contrast that highlighted the shapes of the glacier, snowfields and rock formations
