In the rolling hills of Nebraska, I stopped to capture this view where the land stretched wide beneath a sky full of drifting clouds. The grasses shimmered in the summer light, and the trees stood quietly along the ridge, shaping the horizon with their presence. It was a simple moment, but one that carried with it the essence of Nebraska with open skies, living earth, and a beauty that speaks softly but powerfully.

What I love about this image is the balance of calm and energy. The hills are steady, timeless, grounding, while the clouds above move constantly, shifting the light across the land. It’s the kind of landscape that invites you to breathe deeper, to pause, and to notice how alive the world really is. For me, Nebraska has always been about this quiet drama with a subtle, but deeply moving if you take the time to look.

As someone who grew up here, these hills feel like part of who I am. They’re not just scenery; they’re a reminder of heritage, resilience, and the kind of strength that comes from enduring. This photograph is my way of sharing that connection with others so that even if you’ve never walked these hills, you can feel their calm and their presence.

This is an extremely high-resolution photograph, created to bring out every detail—the shifting grasses in the foreground, the soft edges of the trees, and the texture of the sky. I waited for the clouds to build into something dimensional, so the scene would have both depth and movement. The final print reveals a level of clarity that makes you feel as if you’re standing right there, with the Nebraska breeze brushing across your face.

When you bring this photograph into your home, office, or healthcare space, you’re inviting in the vastness of the prairie, the grounding of the earth, and the calming rhythm of the sky.

The rolling greens, the bright horizon, and the steady trees are Nebraska at its most restorative, and I’m grateful to share that beauty with you.

VAST Print™

A VAST Print™ represents the pinnacle of the photographic medium. Each print is a true photograph created specifically for you using light-sensitive paper exposed in a darkroom with the industry's highest precision exposure technique. Your print is then sealed with a shine-enhancing protective glossy coating*, adhered to a sturdy aluminum composite backing, and finished in one of two ready-to-hang formats:

  • Frameless floating display: A hidden mounting brace on the rear gracefully "floats" the print off the wall for a sleek, modern look.
  • Framed display: The print is mounted inside one of our handcrafted 100% wood frames with a decorative separation between the print and the frame so that the print appears to be floating within the frame, providing depth and elegance to the finished photo.
