The Rickenbacker Causeway connects Miami to Virginia Key and Key Biscayne. After driving the Causeway multiple times in both directions I discovered a small park on Hobie Island that was popular with the local fishermen. It also provided this fantastic view of Downtown Miami. In the center you can see the rainbow facade of the Villa Regina Miami completed by famed Isreali artist Yaacov Agam, considered a pioneer of the Kinetic Art Movement.
Immediately to the right you can see the stepped architecture of the Palace Condominium designed by the famous architecture firm Arquitectonica. You can also see the Four Seasons Miami which is the second tallest building in the city. This colorful and vibrant skyline reflects the lively and extravagant personality of Miami itself.
This VAST image was taken right before sunset, when there was still just a hint of light remaining on the city. I was lucky to have fantastic clouds in the sky at just the right moment. Just after I took this sunset the sky had mostly cleared. The Miami skyline is always a challenge to photograph. Many areas that would make from prime locations are occupied by private homes or business. This is a more uncommon view of the lower end of Miami and Brickell ave.
