Jumpup Point is located on the remote northwestern side of the Grand Canyon. Unlike most of the forested areas around Jacob Lake, the terrain along this trail is more desert-like, with piñon pine, juniper, and sagebrush.
The deep canyon in the left foreground is the Kanab Canyon through which the Kanab River flows. The Kanab flows into the Colorado River approximately 9.6 miles to the south of Jumpup Point. The The Colorado River's flow is on the far side of the large mesa in the center portion of the image.
Jumpup Point is one of the most remote parts of the Grand Canyon accessible by a vehicle. The trail from Jumpup Divide to Jumpup Point is moderately difficult. Rated it a “6.5” out of “10”, a high clearance required and 4WD strongly recommended. It is some 35 miles from Jacobs Lake. The last 10 miles are the most difficult.
One of my passions is traveling in our Jeep Wrangler Rubicon to capture gigapixel photos of locations that most people will never get an opportunity to visit. Using Google Earth I spend hours researching locations such as Jumpup Point. Over 2 years of planning went into capturing this image.

Our photographic prints are created using a specialty, large-format fine art printer designed to produce archival, museum-grade prints. They are true "chromogenic" prints: light-sensitive paper exposed in a darkroom using state-of-the-art lasers to produce the sharpest possible image. Our photographic prints are available in one of two finishes: glossy and lustre. Glossy prints have a rich, silky saturation and are great for environments where the lighting and reflections have been carefully thought through. Lustre prints have a bright, sparkle-like finish that diffuses reflections and are therefore more versatile for environments where the lighting and reflections are less under your control.
Your print comes with two certificates of authenticity hand-signed by the artist and the printmaker: one that you will affix to the finished piece and one that remains standalone. Additionally, your print's provenance is tracked and verified using state-of-the-art digital technology. Learn more.
Our acrylic glass displays are ready-to-hang works of art that contain one of our photographic prints sealed between flame-polished acrylic glass and an aluminum backing. A hidden mounting brace on the rear causes the display to gracefully "float" off the wall for a sleek, modern frameless look that complements nearly any decor style.
