It all started with a lightning strike in 2017. That is how the Kenow wildfire in Southeastern British Columbia came to be. In just a few days, the entire western slopes along Waterton Lake were ravaged by wildfire. When it was all said and done, the fire destroyed over 38,100 hectares. Now, 5 years later, a rejuvenation is underway. They say that water is the essence of life and that could not be more evident around the streams and rivers in the previously charred landscape of Waterton Lakes National Park.
