Bears Ears National Monument, Utah
Newspaper Rock is perched just above the banks of Indian Creek on the eastern edge of the Bears Ears National monument, a large flat rock panel tucked under a small overhang preserves the stories of people who lived in and passed through this area for the past five centuries. Long recognized as a special place to multiple cultures, Newspaper Rock is among the first sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places in this region. The images at Newspaper Rock include animal pelts, figures of riding horses, and broad-shouldered figures with elaborate head decorations. Close examination will reveal numerous images of feet with six toes. Paw and foot prints are in evidence throughout the panel. Many animals are represented including dear, elk, bison and bighorn sheep. One of the images appears to be a rider shooting an arrow at an elk or deer. One of my goals of shooting this image is to create a ultra high resolution image of the location to preserve it for future generations.
This is an focus stacked image shot bracketed with Canon R5, Canon 70-200mm lens at 200mm, f/11, 1/160th sec. exposure, ISO 800. It is made up of 3817 Focus Bracketed images processed to yield 203 individual Focus Stacked images, 7 rows x 29 columns 30% overlap in portrait orientation.
