Emerald Flows II

181 MEGAPIXEL VAST PHOTO
Cascade de Navacelles, Navacelles, l'Hérault, France

The Cirque de Navacelles is located between the limestone plateaus of Larzac and Blandas, on the border of the Gard and Hérault departments, and is listed as a “Grand Site de France.” This 300-meter (984-foot) impressive natural amphitheater, unique in Europe and shaped by the meandering of the Vis river, is an ecological and geological gem. In the center of the hamlet of Navacelles at the bottom of the cirque, the river with its very clear water feeds this magnificent eight-meter (26-foot) high waterfall.

This VAST panorama image is a continuation of my shoot at the Navacelles waterfall, “Emerald Flows I.” For this image, I carefully moved to another nearby boulder, and precariously perched on the edge of it. I spent all afternoon capturing these different viewpoints and elements of the waterfall while carefully juggling swimmers and adventurers passing through my shot and making sure not to drop any of my equipment or fall into the rushing river below.

VAST Print™

A VAST Print™ represents the pinnacle of the photographic medium. Each print is a true photograph created specifically for you using light-sensitive paper exposed in a darkroom with the industry's highest precision exposure technique. Your print is then sealed with a shine-enhancing protective glossy coating*, adhered to a sturdy aluminum composite backing, and finished in one of two ready-to-hang formats:

  • Frameless floating display: A hidden mounting brace on the rear gracefully "floats" the print off the wall for a sleek, modern look.
  • Framed display: The print is mounted inside one of our handcrafted 100% wood frames with a decorative separation between the print and the frame so that the print appears to be floating within the frame, providing depth and elegance to the finished photo.

*Note: a non-glossy, satin matte coating is alternatively available on request.
