David David is an award-winning professional Landscape, Wildlife, and Adventure Photographer, Speaker, Educator, and Founder. His massive, detailed imagery can be found in homes, businesses, and other installations throughout the U.S. and around the world.
David’s relentless pursuit of Compelling and Immersive imagery began in earnest one day while sharing his imagery at a Special Needs event. During the event it was impressed on him the myriad of individuals simply unable to physically get outdoors to the incredible places he had been so blessed to visit. He determined to do something about that.
While working a solution, David’s research uncovered something unexpected; the many physical and mental health benefits derived from outdoor exposure, even benefits derived from the viewing of outdoor imagery. He also eventually realized the unsolvable problem of getting the millions of people that would benefit from outdoor exposure actually into the outdoors.
“I sensed a calling to bring the healing properties of outdoor exposure to those unable to reap the benefits of that exposure simply because they couldn’t get outdoors.” - David David.
He determined a more practical solution was to bring the outdoors to the people. David founded the non-profit Outdoors for Everyone Project as a means by which to “Deliver Mental Health and Quality of Life Solutions” to those lacking the ability or opportunity for outdoor exposure. This was the answer, and Ultra-Resolution Immersive Imagery plays a crucial role.
“Allow me, if you please, to relate one story of the many uplifting stories I’ve heard since founding the Outdoors for Everyone Project. I was again sharing my imagery during a Special Needs program, when afterward I was privileged to meet Mike and his wife Barbara. Barbara informed me that Mike was a former State Trooper and had been shot in the head ten years ago while on duty. He was left with virtually no motor skills and barely able to communicate.
Over the years the two of them had developed several methods of bridging the communications gap, and for example, the way Mike indicated joy to Barbara was through squeezing her hand a certain way. The more frequent and forceful the squeeze, the more joy Mike was feeling. Barbara told me that as Mike was experiencing my imagery, she couldn’t recall a time her hand being squeezed so tight and so often. She said, “I thought he was going to break my hand!” At this comment Mike managed a smile, and we all laughed.” - David David.
This is the affecting power of Ultra-Resolution Immersive Imagery.
It’s through this “photography with a purpose” that David hopes to produce more and more “Squeezes of Joy!” So, whether it’s one of his best-sellers like "Autumn’s Anthem" or "The Outdoors Is Calling", or some of his more niche specific images like "Bumper Crop" (Every car-guy needs this print.) we invite you to partner with him through a purchase of a VAST image. He sincerely appreciates your purchase, which contributes to his support, as he in turn supports the Outdoors for Everyone Project.
We here at VAST are very proud of him.
